Hoopers is a fun and inclusive dog sport that emphasizes teamwork and communication between a dog and their handler. Originating as a variation of agility, Hoopers maintains the excitement and physical challenge but is designed to be accessible for dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds. Here, we focus on nurturing a positive environment where both you and your furry friend can learn, grow, and most importantly, have a great time!

What is Hoopers?

Hoopers is a low-impact canine sport that involves guiding your dog through a course consisting of hoops, barrels, and tunnels. Unlike traditional agility, there are no high jumps or tight turns, making it safer and more accessible for all dogs, including seniors, large breeds, and even those with physical limitations. The course is set up in such a way that dogs run freely through the obstacles, directed by their handler from a distance. This encourages precise communication and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

Why Any Dog Can Excel at Hoopers

  • Low Impact: The absence of high jumps and the inclusion of ground-level obstacles ensure that Hoopers is a low-impact activity. This makes it ideal for dogs of all ages and health conditions.

  • Mental Stimulation: Navigating through a Hoopers course requires focus and intelligence. Dogs of any breed can enjoy and benefit from the mental workout.

  • Builds Communication: Hoopers strengthens the non-verbal communication and understanding between you and your dog, enhancing your relationship.

  • Inclusive: From tiny Chihuahuas to gentle giants like Great Danes, all dogs are welcome. The sport does not favor any breed, size, or age, making it truly inclusive.

  • Adjustable Difficulty: The complexity of the course can be adjusted based on the team's experience level, ensuring a challenging yet achievable goal for everyone.

This workshop will be held in an indoor riding school at Saddlecombe Stud, Hurst Lane, Headley, Epsom, KT18 6DY.

My little Dachshund and I really enjoyed this workshop. It is perfect for him as because of his long back he can struggle jumping so agility isn't really suitable for him. This was perfect! We had so much fun and definitely keen to do more regular classes with him. He was exhausted afterwards!
