Chantal Karyta

CK9 Training is run by Chantal Karyta BSc. (Hons), Dip CABT.  Chantal has always had a keen interest in dogs having worked in boarding kennels, a dog rescue centre and a large dog training and behaviour centre in Surrey before setting up her own company in 2009.

    Chantal has a keen interest in dog sports and competes at a high level in agility.  She has taken many of her dogs to Crufts, Olympia, the Agility World Championships and the World Agility Open.

    She also loves doing mantrailing and airscenting with her dogs.   She currently owns two Border Collies, a Shetland Sheepdog and a Pomeranian.

Virginia Alves

Virginia has been working with dogs for over 18 years, and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.  She has always had a passion for dogs and has helped many along the way. At present she owns 5 dogs, 4 of them come from rescues, helping them to have a fulfilled happy life.
Virginia’s training is precise, clear, specific and fun. Her approach to training helps to improve the relationship between dogs and their owners. Working with sensitive dogs is one of her many strengths.
 
She competes in high level in Agility and has competed at Crufts. She also is a competent handler in Mantrailing and Scentwork.
 
Virginia regularly attends seminars and courses of well-known trainers and behaviourist such as Ken Ramirez, Emily Larlham, Kay Laurence, Kim Brophey, Michael Shikashio to continue her professional development. 
 
Virginia works mainly with our behaviour dog clients, as well as teaching our agility classes, Track n Trail workshops and private lessons.

Rachel Ashby

Rachel has always owned dogs and has lived with a variety of different breeds including Boxers, German Shepherds, Spaniels and Border Collies. 

She currently owns 2 Collies, Buddy and Grace. 

Rachel has been with CK9 Training since 2018, starting off as an Assistant and then taking on her own classes.  She is trained in Canine First Aid and has done numerous dog behaviour courses with the IMDT, School of Canine Science as well as being a Certified Hoopers Instructor. 

Rachel teaches our puppy classes, agility classes, our beginner Track and Trail Workshops as well as doing private lessons.

Laura Wagg

Laura teaches group classes and works with owners one-to-one to address specific issues, increase engagement and teach new skills. Her approach is rooted in science-based methods and she loves using positive reinforcement to get dogs and their families working as a team while building behaviours that benefit everyone. Nothing makes her more fulfilled than helping people live happier lives with their dogs.

 

Laura loves learning and is committed to continuing her education with leading trainers such as the IMDT, behaviourists and scientists. She passionately believes that successful dog training relies on the most up-to-date science, so keeps her knowledge fresh. 

 

In her spare time, Laura enjoys exploring new dog-friendly places to walk in south London and Surrey, as well as practising agility with her Australian labradoodle Dmitri.

Debbi Rule

Debbi has been working with Chantal  since CK9 training was established in 2010.

She currently one dog, Tommy a Border Collie.

Debbi has done several dog activities, including mantrailing and obedience but concentrates mainly on scentwork now.

She has completed numerous courses in subjects including canine psychology, scentwork, puppy socialisation and tricks, including some with Emily Larlham, Ken Ramirez, Deborah Jones and Grisha Stewart.  

Debbi is a Certified Trick Dog Instructor  and runs our tricks workshops as well as scentwork classes, other workshops, private lessons and behaviour consults.
