Beginner Adult Dog Training

Duration: Six weeks Length: 50 minutes
Cost: £60
Date(s): Tuesday 21st February 7.30pm, Saturday 17th March 9am
Suitable for: Dogs over the age of 5 months with little or no training

If you have just taken on a rescue dog or your adolescent dog is no longer listening to you, then this is the course for you.

This course will cover all the basic commands you need to have a well-trained dog, plus how to deal with any problems you may be having such as jumping up and barking. We will help you to understand how dogs learn and why they do the things they do plus the importance of mental stimulation. Week 5 of the course will take place in a local park (daylight permitting for evening classes) so there is a chance to practice training in a real-life situation.

What is taught:

  • Settle
  • Sit/Down/Stand
  • Stays
  • Leave it
  • Watch me
  • Walking on a loose lead without pulling
  • Recalls - getting your dog to come back to you
